What: Hamsun's villa
Where: Larvik, Norway
Here it is: We have not been here yet
Here Knut and Marie lived 1917 to 1918 after they had moved away from Hamarøy and until they found the farm Nørholm near Grimstad. Their youngest daughter Cecilia was born here in 1917. Marie writes in her memories "Regnbuen": "Our villa lay nobly secluded from the street in the middle of the town. We had bought it from a retired chemist. The house was modern and comfortable. Like a chemist could build and live as a matter of fact in those days. Three living rooms ensuite with sliding doors between, the middle living room with a fire place and with an arc towards the veranda and terrace."
