Where: Bietorvet, 4876 Grimstad, Norway
Here it is: From the through-going street in Grimstad, Smith Petersens gate / Pharos vei and the harbour, walk towards the town-centre on the Storgaten. The first square is the Bietorvet.
Nina Sundbye's beautiful Victoria statue came to Grimstad first in 2009 during the Hamsun 150-years jubilee celebrations, where Nina had an exhibition in Grimstad kunstforening. The Kunstforeningen thought, that the statue ought to remain in Grimstad and in a co-operation between town- and national institutions as well as private sponsors it was possible to raise funds for the acquisition. The statue was unveiled in it's present place on 18.09.2010 by Knut Brautaset.
