What: The Wilhelm Rasmussen museum
Where: Elveseter, BÝverdalen, Norway
Here it is: If you have taken the breathtaking Sognefjellsvejen on route 55, you will pass by Elveseter approx. 25 kilometers before Lom. You cannot miss it, as the Saga column is standing like a lighhouse in the landscape.
The 32 meters high Saga column, depicting scenes from Norway's history from the viking age to independance is just the landmark of the museum. Do see the farm and the roots of the Elveseter family AND the works of the artist Wilhelm Rasmussen, including several original of Hamsun busts and reliefs.
